Isnello, at the center of the Madonie Regional Park, lies in the middle of a valley, in a magnificent natural setting dominated by rocks of limestone-dolomite nature.
The town has a particularly important historical-artistic-monumental heritage.
The 15th-century Mother Church, decorated with frescoes by Antonio Ferraro, with a carved wooden choir from 1601, a marble ciborium by Domenico Gagini, and an important Organ.
The late medieval Church of St. Michael, with beautiful painted wooden trusses from the 18th century, wall frescoes from the 1300s, a wooden Crucifix attributed to Friar Humile of Petralia, an organ with a fine chancel.
The Church of the Rosary, inside which are the marble sarcophagi of the Santacolomba family and a 16th-century panel painting attributed to the Flemish Simone da Wobrek. The Church of Santa Maria Maggiore, built around the end of the 14th century near the striking ruins of the Castle in the highest and oldest part of the town.
The Church of the Annunziata, formerly a chapel dedicated precisely to the Annunziata, has been the subject of donations since the 1400s. In 1628 construction began on the new church, which was completed in 1637. In the church one can admire the Nativity painting attributed to G. Salerno and the organ by Antonino La Valle, which has been restored and is fully functional.
At the entrance to the village is the equestrian monument "La madre Madonita," made in bronze in 1987 by sculptor Pietro Giambelluca.
Just one kilometer from the town is the home of the Center for Astronomical Sciences, Gal Hassin, with its planetarium and museum accessed by many schools and visitors from Italy and abroad, as well as scientists of international stature. Connected to the astronomical center is the Wide-field Mufara Telescope, located on Mount Mufara to enable remote sky observation.
Isnello's sky has also had a prestigious recognition: the most beautiful sky in Italy.
Of particular interest is the Abisso del Vento cave explored in the last century, rich in stalactites and stalagmites.
Also suggestive are the ruins of the castle in the highest part of the village from where it is possible to dominate the entire valley.
The structure of the town, typically medieval, with the small squares, the houses with colorful and flowered balconies, the striking views of the landscape, make Isnello an ideal place to spend pleasant stays, in contact with nature and in the typical tranquility of a small hill town far from the hustle and bustle of the cities.
