Just over 20 kilometers from Isnello is the plateau of Piano Battaglia, 1526 meters above sea level and nestled between two wonderful peaks, Pizzo Carbonara (1979 mt.) and Mount Mufara (1865 mt.).
This place is a favorite winter vacation destination for those who live in the western part of Sicily and the crossroads of several wonderful walking trails that branch out into the Madonie Park.
The forests in this area consist of Beeches, Holm oaks, and Firs, there are numerous floral endemisms such as Peony, Sicilian Fairy Flax, Gussone's Star, Astragalus, and Nebrodi Pin, and the fauna consists of numerous specimens of Deer, Wild Boar, reptiles, birds, and rodents. In autumn it is possible to admire the majestic foliage that colors Mount Mufara and the surrounding area and attracts many hikers from all over.
Finally, in winter these heights are whitewashed by the snow that abounds on the peaks of these wonderful mountain places and gives breathtaking landscapes.
